The induction is held on 1st and 3rd monday of every month. The volunteer travel with diverse project take part in the orientation in a group. It is compulsory to arrive one day before the induction.
You may wish to arrive earlier to allow yourself adequate time to settle in before commencing training. If however your itinerary does not fit in with starting the VIN induction on the 1st and 3rd monday of each month, please contact VIN, and we will try to address your request.
The induction sessions are normally of 2-3 days which includes sessions such as VIN – introduction, Project orientation, Cultural session, Health tips, and Nepali survival tips.
The project orientation is provided by related project officers. During induction your project supervisor will prepare your work plan.
The placement is done by Volunteer coordinators after completion of orientation. Your accommodation one day prior until the day of placement in covered either at VINs hostel or Hotel in thamel. Volunteers will be sharing their accommodation during the induction. You will receive nepali standard lunch during your placement.
If your volunteer program includes teaching, you will be given intensive English as a Foreign Language (EFL) class, focusing on child friendly teaching approaches.
Your VIN induction and training include the following within your volunteer fees:
Guest house accommodation and lunch at VIN’s office for the duration of your program induction (this is booked, arranged and pre-paid by VIN on your behalf).
Volunteers need to arrive a day prior to the start date. However, if you do arrive on the induction day, you need to be available at the office at 10am.
