14th march – On the auspicious of International women day, Jitpurphedi women agriculture cooperative limited had organized an Interaction and cultural programmes on 7th of march. With the support of Volunteer Initiative Nepal, cooperative conducted the programme in the ground of Kalikasthan school. There are altogether 95 participant in the program. The main objective of the program is to openly discuss and interact about the Women right in Nepal & Domestic Violence.
Ganga Pant, the DSP of Balaju police headquarter encouraged to women that they should be aware and do such kind of work which itself help to develop women. She said, to stop Domestic Violence women herself should become aware and courageous. ‘To end such type of Violence first women should be united and try to solve that’ she added. Pant also assured that she will do any kind of support and help to save the right of women.
During program many women expressed anger towards being excluded from their right. They expressed sadness towards not being improved the situation of women till now. Women demanded for equal behavior, rights and Work.
On that day, Cooperative had also organized a small rally with the Banner and pamphlets. Women raised the slogan like Stop Domestic Violence, Women should be united, education and work to women is necessary and have right etc. Women also sang a song related to their situation; explore their problem through song during the program.
VIN has implemented various projects for women empowerment. The women if jitpurphedi acknowledge the fact that after they became more empowered and independent after the intervention of VIN. Various local and international volunteers had contributed for success of these women. You can be also an important part in their success stories.
