On 22nd June 2024, a pivotal meeting gathered ECD teachers at the NTCLC – Naratika Community Learning Center. The event, hosted in collaboration with Volunteers Initiative Nepal and led by Chloe, a dedicated volunteer with four months of teaching experience at Raktamala School, aimed to support the learning environment for children and strengthen school-teacher relationships for overall development.
Objective: The primary objective of the meeting was to enhance the learning environment for children and foster a collaborative relationship between Thulachhap Community School and its teachers.
Event Overview: The program commenced with an engaging warm-up session, setting a positive tone for the day. Chloe facilitated an insightful presentation using PowerPoint slides, covering various aspects of effective ECD teaching practices. The teachers actively participated in interactive sessions, sharing their teaching experiences and discussing the impacts of their methods on student learning.
To ensure inclusivity, Kanchan, Sunita, Utsav, and Anu provided translation services from English to Nepali, ensuring all participants could fully engage and comprehend the discussions.
Activities: Teachers were divided into two groups to partake in different activities aimed at promoting collaboration and sharing of best practices. Each group later presented their findings and tasks, encouraging peer learning and constructive feedback.
Chloe, drawing on her experience, provided valuable feedback to the teachers, emphasizing areas of strength and suggesting improvements where necessary.
Conclusion: At the conclusion of the program, Cholindra, the volunteers’ coordinator, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants for their invaluable contributions. A group photograph captured the spirit of unity and commitment among the attendees towards advancing early childhood education.
