VIN’s management team lead by Dr Laxmi has conducted a coordination meeting at Okhaldhunga to construct ECD buildings. It was hold meetings at Janachetan secondary school, Bhorle, Taluwa-5; Siddha Devi basic school, Bhadaure-6 and Renuka basic school, Keureni, Thulachap-5. The major objectives of the meeting was to coordinate ECD building construction plan with schools and local communities.
At first Dr Laxmi gave a presentation about the construction plan to the groups representing school management committee, school teachers, ECD parents, skilled mason and local people from the area. It was presented with flex print developed for construction site. The construction plan is based on Earthquake resistant building construction with pole pillar. For second step, it was formed a construction committee with 5 persons representing school management committee, principal, ECD teacher, skilled mason and parent. In Third step we discuss about the roles and responsibilities of construction committee. Construction committee was oriented about role and responsibilities of the team during the construction process. Major role of the committee was to manage people, local stuffs like water, take care of construction materials, record attendance and monitor the construction process.
There were 22 people in Janachetan School, 37 in Shidda devi and 26 in Renuka school. The meeting was effective in all schools. The community people were receptive and excited with the project.
The project was also coordinated with District Education Office, Okhaldhunga. VIN has a plan to start the project from last week of March. It is found that about 80 children from the rural communities of Okhaldhunga will be benefited from the project.
