VIN facilitated a one day teacher training to the teacher of Jitpurphedi Higher Secondary School on 25th April, 2014 under its Teacher Development Project. There were 29 participants including some parents and the members of management committee. Teacher Development is part of VIN’s Children’s Development Program . VIN’s mission through this program is to empower the village – the parents, teachers and schools – to enable its children to receive an education, explore creative outlets, and develop as a whole.
The teacher training’s topic was “Four Pillars of Changing’’. The four pillars covered were Winning the heart of the students, Making the class interesting, Completing curriculum in creative way and giving something to students which they need in real.
The session started with an interesting game of introduction. There were many activities of team work and pair works in the teacher training session. Teaching language through strip story, developing the trust of students towards teachers, developing the concept of students about ‘Why am I special in this world?, planning and presentation, pair observation were some of the activities conducted during the training session practically.
We learned many activities and games which we can apply in our real classroom. The session was very interesting and joyful, said the Head Teacher of the school, Mr. Hari Krishna Aryal as another English teacher said, “I was so excited to participate in the games, I think, I can teach them best to my students.”
In overall, the teacher training became fruitful. The session was conducted by one of the VIN’s staff Mr. Dinesh Khatiwada.
