Volunteer Initiative Nepal (VIN) called for Volunteer’s Monthly meeting on 14th of March to discuss on different agendas of staffs and the volunteers. There were total 16 volunteers present in this meeting.
The Meeting started at 3 pm by introducing the present members in the meeting. With an introduction part, the meeting was followed by the agenda where the volunteers share their experience and exchange their ideas. In this agenda, volunteers explains how their volunteering period is going, sharing of tips, experiences and ways to overcome any challenges in their placements.
The volunteers are devoting their time and work in order to help VIN in developmental activities in the communities. The volunteers involved in Women Empowerment Project has been now doing the Women Rights classes in different areas of Jitpurphedi while some other volunteers working in construction and manual work are building houses in Panchemane-5 . They explains how interesting and rewarding their work is. Similarly, the volunteers received for teaching project are teaching English to the monks. The interns working in journalism program has been writing articles for New Spotlight Magazine. They have been writing more about culture, festival and religions of Nepal.
According to the volunteers, teaching at community school and buddhist monastery teaching, they have also been enjoying their work so far. The time with kids, accommodation and other support and facilities has been a good experience, volunteers explained.
The meeting was followed by other Agenda where we discussed VIN’s Update and support. VIN and its volunteers have been making positive impacts on the lives of marginalized people living in the community.
