It focused on common cancer among women such as cervix cancer and breast cancer. Women were informed about medical problems, symptoms, early detection and preventing from related diseases. They were taught about self-breast examination. Volunteers gave a demonstration in front of women and girls. Women got knowledge about reproductive system and medical conditions related to reproductive system. Women and girls were involved in discussion session to share their problem.
VIN volunteers suggest them to go to clinic for check-up. It was advised them to have a regular check-up. If they can continue regular check-up, disease can be detected in early stage and can be treated easily.
VIN has been conducting health awareness campaign in communities from the beginning of the project implementation. The campaigns are decided on the findings from research. Women’s reproductive health campaign in Jitpur was confirmed after volunteers found that the women are suffered from the reproductive health problems from the research conducted on last month among 100 women. The campaign was targeted to 625 women and 200 school girls.
Women and school girls have benefited from the campaign. The campaign conducted by VIN volunteers is effective to educate women about reproductive health care. It has supported women and girls to learn about major health problems. It is also proved by the views expressed by participants from the campaigns. “It was nice to get participated in this campaign. I came to know more about my genitals organs and reproduction. I didn’t know about it before, now I learn how it works. I learn that when we feel problem we have to go to doctor at early stage to treat it easily. Thank you VIN and volunteers for the campaign.” Januka Gajurel, a participant from jitpurphedi.
