18th August, 2014: The child club of Nagarjun Higher Secondary school performed street drama based on women trafficking prevention on 10th August 2014. There are 13 members in this child club. They organize this kind of performances in timely manner. The children decided to perform street dram due to the problem of women trafficking in the village. Annually various girls are trafficked from this village. The main cause of girl trafficking is due to lack of education and poverty. The drama not only presented the situation of trafficking in the village but also presented the preventive major to control trafficking. The audiences were well aware on how knowingly and unknowingly one can be the escape goat in the hand of pedophiles.
All the audience including children, parents and the teachers appreciated the role play and the theme. They encouraged that this kind of awareness activities should be prioritized. Subash lama, chairperson of Nagarjun children’s club stated that the club will organize more awareness campaign in the form of drama based on untouchability, sanitation and also the social problems.
