Youth Empowerment Training at Jitpurphedi

Youths are the most influential factors who can bring change in deed and empowering them is equally important. VIN right from its establishment is so much into empowering the marginalized community through its various programs. Youth empowerment has also have been another program of VIN that aims to empower the youths by developing their skills in the sectors they are interested in, by providing them various trainings and by developing platforms for them to get involved in some income generating and development activities. In the same context, VIN is conducting youth empowerment programs for the youths of Jitpurphedi community.
The program started form 13^th June, 2016 and will continue till 23^rd June, 2016. The programs has various activities that helps the youths to enhance their skills in different sectors. Two VIN volunteers from Denmark are training the youths about the life skills, computer skills, personal development skills and language skills. 10 youths are participating in the program.
The youths in Jitpurphedi lack the basic facilities that other youths would get in the urban area. Since they lack the facilities, they also lack the basic knowledge about computer. So VIN is providing the computer classes for these youths. Similarly, most of the youths who have completed their studies are compelled to stay idle as they do not have any job. Among such youths, most of them have even gone abroad and are working as a labor which is a great loss to the country and its economy. As an attempt to stop this trend of youths going abroad as labor force, VIN is providing different life skill trainings to the youths of Jitpurphedi area.
Similarly, the Jitpurphedi youths also lack personal development. So, to help them develop their personality, VIN has included personal development training in the youth empowerment program. Further, the program has also included the language skills class to help the youths to develop their linguistic skills in English language.
