Nirmala is a public health graduate with a strong background in disease prevention and community health promotion. She has first-hand experience in data analysis, program implementation, teaching and working with diverse populations. She is passionate about identifying and implementing evidence-based approaches to tackle health and social issues.
She is responsible for managing the library at Narayansthan Secondary School and NaraTika Community Learning center. She develops and facilitates various sessions for academic and non-academic skill enhancement of students and community.
During her academic year, she has led various school health and education programs. She has previously served as a Teach for Nepal Fellow, where she gained hands-on experience in education system, teaching and grassroots community work. Her experience as a program assistant has further honed her skills in project management and stakeholder engagement.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health which equips her with various skills such as problem identification, curriculum development, program planning, need based training and collaboration with different stakeholders at the local level.
As a learning facilitator and librarian, she has strong information literacy, instructional, and technology skills, along with excellent communication and organizational abilities.
Nirmala is affiliated with VIN where she contributes to the organization’s vision and mission of holistic development of the community.
As a public health graduate, her focus is on improving children’s well-being through policy advocacy. She aims to work at the policy level to bring about significant societal impacts, ensuring that all children have access to necessary resources and support for their development. By collaborating with policymakers and community leaders, she strives to create lasting systemic changes that prioritize children’s needs and rights, contributing to a healthier and more equitable society.
Nirmala has contributed to organization by developing resource-rich learning environments, guiding students in information literacy, designing workshops which ultimately enhances educational access and quality in rural community.
