Role at VIN:
Mr. Khatiwada helps the Chairperson in decision-making for the organisation and takes on his responsibilities when absent. He is also VIN’s legal advisor.
Academic qualifications:
He has completed a Master’s Degree in Law (LLM) from Tribhuvan University.
Expertise and Experience:
Mr Khatiwada is a lawyer by profession and has 20 years of experience in the field. His main area of advocacy is human rights.
He has sixteen years of experience in pleading cases as an advocate handling the cases of criminal, civil and constitutional rights and handling the writs against unconstitutional moves. He worked as a member of the Human Rights Committee of Appellate Court in 2005 and also served as a member-secretary of the Commercial Committee of the Supreme court in 2006. He has been affiliated with the Kathmandu Bar Association since 1993 and is currently with the Appellate Bar Association.
Presently, he is the legal consultant/advisor of various companies and NGOs including VIN. He is the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Jugal English Medium Secondary school, Kapan -3, Kathmandu and is an advocate at the Gatishil Law Chamber (Dynamic Law Chamber), Dillibazar Kathmandu.
