Shrena Shrestha is an environmental science graduate from Khwopa College, Tribhuvan University. She has a strong academic background and a passion for environmental conservation. With experience in teaching and volunteering, she has worked with diverse groups to raise awareness about environmental issues and promote sustainable practices.
Shrena is currently working on a five-month Disaster Risk Reduction project in Okhaldhunga. Her main duties include forming disaster management committees, training them, and educating students and communities about disaster preparedness. She also organizes workshops, awareness programs, and training sessions, creating manuals to enhance the knowledge and skills of local people in disaster preparedness and risk management.
Shrena has extensive experience as a citizen scientist and volunteer. She has conducted workshops on topics such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), voter education, air pollution, climate change, and other environmental issues. One of her key achievements is her work with Smart Phones for Water Nepal (S4W-Nepal), where she monitored rainwater and groundwater for which she was awarded as “Rainfall Citizen Scientist of the Year-2020” and “Groundwater Citizen Scientist of the Year-2023.”
Shrena holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from Khwopa College, where she graduated with a commendable academic record (77.8% in her final year). She has also completed training in early childhood development and participated in various environmental and leadership programs, such as the My World 2030, One Million Leaders Asia fellowship.

Shrena is actively involved with organizations such as Wildlife Conservation Nepal, Vision Green Organization, ENPHO, and Smart Phones for Water Nepal (S4W-Nepal), contributing to conservation and sustainability initiatives.
Shrena is deeply committed to environmental sustainability and conservation education. She believes in the power of grassroots efforts to bring meaningful change and is particularly passionate about inspiring the younger generation to protect and preserve the nature.
Her contributions include leading awareness campaigns, conducting groundwater and rainfall monitoring as a citizen scientist, and supporting sustainable practices through community outreach.
