It was my first time as a volunteer and it was a great adventure! VIN gives a lot of information and help during the all project.
I went in Nepal for the Agroforestry project in the little village of Kaule. The project isn’t only about agriculture but more about everything that could help to improve the quality of the farmer’s life. There is always something to do in Kaule and I participate in a lot of small projects: Building a trash burning facility, a fish pond, new gates, an irrigation sytem, a compost, planting trees and vegetables, helping during the farmer’s meeting, the toilet’s and compost trainings, working in the fields with the farmers,…
But travelling as a volunteer is also a good way to really know a new country and a new culture. During the 4 months I met and I talked with a lot of Nepali people and it was really interesting to see how they live. Living without electricity and water sometimes, eating Daal bhat every day and being outside all day with beautiful landscapes was amazing…
The volunteering is a good way to give time for other people and in the same time learn many things about a new culture and about yourself.
