Firstly I would like to say that I am very thankful to VIN for the experience I have had in Nepal.
When I first heard about the earthquake in Nepal in the news I was afraid of coming to Nepal and I really doubted if doing the volunteering was still a good idea .Finally my friends and I decided that we had to because due to the consequences the earthquake left the country really needed help and VIN assured us we would be safe and living in good conditions.
After spending three weeks in the post disaster relief program I can say I am very glad I came to Nepal .It has been a wonderful experience and I have learned a lot from it. We have been helping building temporarily houses had been demoted by the earthquake .For me it has been very satisfactory being able to help those families and to see how grateful they are with us .Nepali people are all very kind and generous. They would always offer of food and drinks or whatever we needed while we worked .
Moreover working with local Nepali volunteers had . I learned a lot from them and they all are very nice and friendly people. May be they need to improve to organize teams and work a little bit better.
Finally I would like to say that my host family has been amazing .I have felt like another member of that family .They were so kind and lovely to us trying to make us feel like at home all the time. I learned a lot at Nepali culture and customs from them. It has been the best to stay in host family.
Lastly, I just want to say that I strongly recommend this experience and I would love to repeat it at some point.
