I was a volunteer at the Ganesh Himal Orphanage and I enjoyed my time there very much. The experience was amazing and opened my horizon to another culture.
 
The children at the orphanage are so funny and brave. I never saw some children like that before. They learn a lot of staff in such a young age. Like cooking, gardening and do laundry. They are very respectful and take care of each other. It feels like living in a big family and not like in an orphanage. The children call the owner mother and father and the other children sister and brother. I think the children have a good new home in the Ganesh Himal Orphanage.
 
One of my main tasks at the orphanage was to bring the children to school and pick them up. After school I helped them with their homework and played games with them (like badminton and puzzle).
 
It was very good that I also slept at the orphanage because so I saw how the live in the orphanage really looks like. I also had to wake up very early to bring the first group to school that is why it is better to sleep directly in the orphanage. The owner was very friendly and helpful even if it was sometimes very hard to communicate in English.
 
I am very happy that I did my volunteer program with VIN. The organization before and during the program was very good and I always got a good support. I will recommend VIN to people who are interested in doing a volunteer program.
 
I want to thank you for that great experience as a volunteer. I will keep this time always in good memory.
