I wake up between 6.30 and 7.00 am. I get dress. I drink a cup of Masala tea and I go working in the field with the family. We have breakfast at 9.30. We eat daal bhaat, tarkaari and pickel. After, we work again 2 or 3 hours. The lunch is at 2.00 pm. We sometimes work 1 or 2 hours after lunch. We have dinner at 7pm. In the evening, we sometimes play cards or watch Tv.
The work in field is very intresting ! Every day, I discover new things ! At the beginning, I often plant ginger and harvest bean. I also cut mustard tree. For planting ginger, we need mineral fertilizer, animal fertilizer and compost fertilizer. We have to wait 1 year to harvest new ginger. After planting, we have to cover ground with many leaves. We go to forest to put some leaves into basket. We carry it to field. I also cut grass and dig field to prépare ground to plant corn (at the beginning of May).
The second week, it is the end of bean’s season, we cut bean’s tree. The place is now free to plant other vegetables in May (spanich, cucumber, soja, pumkin and corn). After harvesting bean, we put it in big bag. The family sell some bean at the market.
Last days, we cut wheat and carry it to home. Other women work with us in the field.
The Aryal family is very friendly !! They want to show me all things about agrofarm life. I learn a lot about agriculture and népali culture. All days with this family are unforgettable days in Népal !! Thanks for everything !
